NES & CAS

Okay I need to talk about a Nesta and Cassian theory that has been living in my head rent-free lately because the more I think about it, the more it just fits. 🖤✨

So obviously their relationship in the series feels different from the start. Not just romantic, but intense in a way that almost feels inevitable. Like even when they’re fighting, avoiding each other, or pretending they don’t care… the tension between them is so obvious you can practically feel it through the page.

One theory I love is that Nesta was always meant to end up in the Night Court. Even before everything with the Cauldron, she already had that same kind of energy strong, sharp, a little bit dark, but fiercely protective underneath it all. She fits the Night Court in a way that almost feels like destiny.

And then there’s her power. Nesta didn’t just become Fae -she took power straight from the Cauldron, which is ancient and unpredictable magic. Some fans think that might have affected the mating bond between her and Cassian, making it stronger and way more intense than usual. Which honestly would explain a lot… because those two have a connection that’s impossible to ignore.

But what I love most about them is Cassian himself. He’s probably one of the only people who could truly love someone like Nesta without trying to change her. He sees her anger, her grief, all the walls she puts up- and he doesn’t walk away. He just stays. Patiently, stubbornly, completely.

And let’s be honest for a second… the chemistry between them is unreal. It’s not loud or obvious all the time, but there’s this constant pull between them that makes every interaction feel charged, like they’re both very aware of each other even when they’re trying not to be.

My favorite interpretation is that Cassian probably cared about her long before the mating bond officially clicked into place. Which makes their story even better to me, because it means their connection wasn’t just fate deciding things for them- it was also something they chose.

Anyway… now I’m sitting here wanting to reread all their scenes again because somehow the tension, the arguments, the quiet moments -all of it just hits differently when you think about it this way.

Tell me I’m not the only one who thinks about this???
